Students tell why they like going to Presidio:

Before I started attending Presidio School, I was out of school for a year and a half due to illness. I was a little concerned about returning to school and a smaller school was very appealing to me. I started Presidio in my 8th grade year and am now a junior in high school. I am on track to graduate on schedule. I enjoyed Presidio so much that my younger sister decided to transfer to Presidio. She will be a member of the 2009-2010 Freshman class. J. Geller, Junior

I was below grade level in writing; it has always been the most difficult subject for me. I thought that the individualized instruction that was offered at Presidio might help me, and I was right! I have not only improved my writing, but I actually enjoy it. A. Christy, Sophomore

I did not start Presidio until my junior year. I was looking on the internet to find a school that I thought might work better for me than my current one. I noticed that Presidio had a small class size, one teacher to only sixteen students. I decided to give it a try. Once I enrolled, I found out that not only did Presidio have small classes, but they also provided individualized instruction. I am very interested in dance, and the school helped me get a dance internship. All the teachers and staff at Presidio are helpful and friendly. K. Buendia, Junior

I started Presidio School in the 7th grade and decided to continue there for high school. I found that the teachers are more focused on helping students to learn. I like the Presidio School Student Handbook because it guides the students to be more respectful to each other and the teachers. I also like the fact that the class size is small. E. Naval, Freshman

My mom liked that both my brother and I could attend the same school. It is also important to my mom that we have a better education and she thought that we would get one at Presidio School since it is a National Blue Ribbon School. I also like that I have the opportunity to excel and work at a faster pace. A. Villalvazo, Freshman

Presidio is a wonderful school to go to as a Freshman! The teachers are always devoted to their students. The teachers care about their students education and believe that their students should be treated like young adults. Likewise, the students are expected to treat their teachers with the same respect. It is hard coming to a new school and making friends, but at Presidio, everyone is friends with each other. There are never any fights or big drama which makes Presidio an even better learning environment. My friends at Presidio encourage me to do well in school. Overall, Presidio is a great school and everybody cares about one another. K. Cody, Freshman

One of the things I like most about Presidio is the warm and friendly staff and faculty. I am listened to and I am able to get into the classes that I want. Also, there are lots of opportunities for the students like our Pima College Upward Bound program. J. York, Sophomore

Do you know why I would recommend Presidio School? I would recommend Presidio because it is kind of a *laidback* school; but not too laidback that you do not work. Also, it is small; it does not have thousands of kids so it is easier to get work done. The school days are short for high school. If you are in high school and have a job, it makes it easier. J. Zander, Freshman

Do you know why I would recommend Presidio School to students who actually want to learn? Well, first the shorter school days make it easier on students and teachers. Second, Presidio has very good teachers that actually know what they are doing. Third, because the school is self-paced, you can get ahead. Finally, the after school Academic Lab can help you catch up on school work or get ahead. Presidio School is a good school and should be recommended to high school students who want to graduate early. C. Stovall, Freshman

I came to Presidio for more reasons than one. One reason I came to Presidio is because it is a National Blue Ribbon School that allows you to move faster than the normal pace. That is important especially when you want to graduate early. A second reason I came to this school is because they require that you go to school four hours and fifty minutes a day and there is no homework. If you miss school, you can go to Academic Lab and make up the work missed. Finally, the most important reason I came to this school is that they give you scholarship opportunities. Presidio sounded great to me, so I came here. I am very glad I did! S. Miller, Freshman

Presidio is one of the best schools in Tucson. My brother once attended Presidio School and he thought it was wonderful! Even though he did not finish all of his high school years at Presidio, he still got the education he needed and went to college. My mother wanted to put me into a good school where I could keep up my grades. So, she chose Presidio. Sure enough, I did! When I came on my first day I had some doubts, but the day went by great! I am glad that I am a Presidio student because Presidio is a great school! One reason that Presidio is a good school is because it is a self-paced school; we work at our own speed. That is really good because some people work fast and some work slow. Another reason Presidio is a good school is because the teachers help each person individually in elementary, junior high and high school. M. Natividad, Freshman

When I came back this summer, I was told about a great high school to go to called Presidio. I also heard that if I wanted and tried my best, I could move ahead faster than I could anywhere else. I did not think it was real, but I gave it a try. Not too long after I began freshman year, I found out just how real it was. I also got to meet lots of new friends, awesome teachers, hard working fellow students, and have fun all the while. Presidio has given, and will continue to give me more insight on my career. J. Stone, Freshman

There are plenty of schools I could have chosen from, but what made Presidio special was that I have never been to a school that has no homework, no backpacks and is so small and not crowded. It is really nice because when you go home, you do not have to travel in a crowded and hot school bus; and when you get home you can do whatever you want to do and have time to yourself instead of having a huge backpack full of tons and tons of homework. The only bad thing about Presidio is that you have to complete every single little thing for your grade! The best thing about Presidio is that the high school students do not have to wear uniforms and they get out really early. D. Nardi, Freshman
